Antique French Doré Bronze and brêche d'alep marble plinth mantel clock and barometer, on the Louis XVI style, heavily and beautifully engraved, both of the clock and the barometer are surmounted by a cherub sitting on a cushion and three foliate candle arms, the clock with a signed circular white enameled clock dial with Roman numerals, twin barrels, three subsidiary dials indicating day, date and month, the barometer is of a typical aneroid form. Both central parts are surrounded with a frieze and a foliate wreath, and on each side of the upper part of both pieces are engraved war & musical elements such as a helmet, battle-ax, ribbon tied armor with fleur de lis, draped spear, clarinet and a dagger, on the lower part bagpipes represented, incised and perforated sides and foliate ornamentations. The marble plinth is adorned with bronze decorations and stands on gadrooned toupie feet.
